The official manufacturing purchasing managers index fell to 49.6 last month. The official PMI figure has been in contraction territory for four months. Copper for 3-month delivery on the London Metal Exchange slipped 0.5% to $4,561.50 a ton by 9:29 a.m. in Shanghai.
