in fact joomla is good but need a lot of updates.. but wordpress Rocks, easy to use, easy to edit the themes and content, lot of plugins and big community for help..

this question is older than whole Internet.
but seriously..
I think WP is more flexible and can be used for website pretty much every type. And with a lot of great looking themes and functional plugins is really easy to manage.

Wordpress is lakcing many of the tools Joomla has IMO
