Yaa nick whatever you said will work to some extent... but you can provide some importance to keywords too..... Add some keywords that can be frequently used by internet users so that your website has the possibility to increase the rank...

I think you shouldn't just PM it to each other but post a list here. In that way, the community can also benefit from learning about the different directory submission programs out there and pick the ones that are suited for them. Just a thought :wink:

but i heard that if you submit your sites to some directories the page ranking gets reduced .. how do you substantiate for this?

Its not so. Infact your page rank get improved. Directories submissions are the part of seo works, infact most of the SEO recommend this.

This is how it goes....

Your are submitting your site to the directories which are the most usefull source of traffic to your site. So if any one searches in google for the keyword of your site then your site appears in the top depending on the many factors.

Its fine nick, I have tried submitting my blog to many directories similar to this.... But still if i check for the number of back links to my website its only around 180... can you suggest me a method how can we increase the backlinks to a website...

While submitting our website to search engines or other websites it is asking for reciprocal link which reverts back to our original blog.. Hence i have a doubt will it be appropriate if we create our reciprocal link using short url service providers like shorturl or tinyurl (or) we need to create our reciprocal link using free website service provider like bravenet,9k .... Hope you will get my question this time... Let me know if you still have any doubts with this one.

Regular Links is free in many free directories
Regular links with reciprocal is also free in some directories
