No, this is not the truth, in fact now more and more people is choosing linux hosting, due to their hosting plan is cheaper, and linux is seldom being infected by virus, and those mysql database for linux is also cheaper and some free too. People choose windows hosting mostly for their application hosting where supporting microsoft sql server .
