well even when I try to do so, I end up doing nothing, so it is simply a waste of time. I prefer not to do so, but I will contribute to the community by reporting the wrong happenings.

Well one thing I observed that even though the members are increasing there is very little to post there. The content of the forum is not increasing in that proportion.

I think that it is better to just introduce this forum to friends and leave it to them if they want to join then good otherwise do not try to persuade them.
It is so because sometimes if they join the forum just because we force them, then they soon become inactive and such inactive members are of little use for the forum.

there is no need at all to force people.
just promote the forum as best as you can and try to guide members to join and explore the forum.
and then you will also earn bonuses per referral.
and for that.. contests may increase .. so its a win-win situation.
