Default Google Analytics or Stat counter?Which is best?

Hey guys i have been using both Google analytics as well as stat counter in checking the traffic figures for my blog.
I observed that stat counter gives innate details about where your blog has been viewed from, for how long and even how many times.
But i have heard a lot of members say that google analytics is the best.
But both dont seem to be giving the same number of stats. Anyone has any idea why ?

what does the google analytic really do? I heard that it would help a website/blog to increase their page ranks as well as also tracking the visitors! I like to know in details about it.

well in my opinion Google Analytics is much better than stats counter. I have used it in many sites and quite satisfied with the results provided by them.

I am using Google analytics. I have never seen any beautiful site similar to this one. Very rich features. I am using it for my website. It gives accurate results with reports and also graphical representation of all reports. You can do anything you like there.

I mean you can set target and also check the countries from where you are getting more traffic and also if you want to know the browsers used by all people - you can easily find out.

I prefer to use Google analytics.

of course it can target city as well, but if the visitors use proxy then it is hard to know it unless it can privide IP address.

yeah right.. I have also seen this feature but never used it. I think this must be relating to setting goal for the traffic or the coverage of all regions of the world to access the site.

How does it work really? Have you used it.. give me your thoughts on this feature this might help many here. thanks!

Yeah I did.. used it to calculate how many people are getting to my downloads page through the 'enter your email and name' script.
This is a nice tool to know which all are the places where a visitor abandon the site.. usually happens when a visitor does not want to enter the required information or the page is too difficult to use.
read more about goal setting in

though it is copied from google help all info is included in a single page
