Using wordpress is FREE but for setting up a blog you another webhosting service I use blogger for my blogs. tried to setup wordpress blog once but failed because of some server problem..
.. actually wordpress is a blog platform. where you can customise and manage your blogs in more ways than blogger can do like
user registration
userlevels for access
flexible themes etc...

correct wordpress is more flexible than bloggers and if you change any code or if you do seo work in bloggers then the stupid google will send you a warning message that your blog is suspended due to scam activity and your blog is a potential scam blog.

If some body planning to or serious about his web site or blog ,it is not advisable to use freehostia free offer,now a days lots of problem occurring in free hosting.

maybe,you are reasonable but i think it is better to have a try for newbies.because we can have some experience about wordpress since they have no knowledge about this.
and then they can decide if it is worth to create blog with wordpress.

yes you are absolutely right i have experienced this problem actually when i made any wordpress theme so i need to test it in order to make it bug free, so i have made a free sub domain at freehostia but i found many times the site go down and more than 5 times my mysql database has deleted automatically without the knowledge of the hosting team.

actually they don't delete any database manually actually their server crashed in some time interval so lots of people lost their mysql database.

yeah, very correct but as the person said that the new member who wants to experience about blog and also the sites then better to use free hosting site then to buy own sites. I know one very good site which is very stable and provide 5GB of free space. SQL and all available but which is not free.

File uploading and domain is free. I started with the free 110mb.com and the now i am planning to have my own domain.

But wordpress has cooler templates. And there are few templates which are converted to blogger templates and also has lots of bugs on those templates. I like wordpress templates but for blogging i like blogger.

yeah i don't know the plug ins of this wordpress. does it mean that we don't have to use the html codes in wordpress because they have plug ins any ways.

if there is buttons to automatically add our links without html then it will be great.
