Difference between SEO and PPC

I know this might be a little elementary, but what is the main difference between SEO and PPC? Do you consider PPC to be part of SEO?

Well obviously not. They both are different wide concepts. SEO is for Search engine optimizatioon and PPC is for ad network.

Dear meredith, No similarity in SEO and PPC. When you submit your site to any search engine, thats called search engine optimization, and pay per clck (PPC) is ad network in your site. You pay for SEO and PPC pay you.

well it is not necessary that you pay for SEO, you can optimize your site on your own and save the money...

Search engine optimization is completely different from the PPC. By the first, you can increase the ranking of your website or blogg while by the other you can earn some money by working on internet.

ppc is kind of marketing and advertising in the internet where as seo is totally different it requires techniques to link your website or blogs.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization puts your site appear on the top of search list in engines like google. Thus making more traffic for your site. While PPC pays affiliates to click for their advertizer's ads.

SEO is used to optimize the search engine and PPE is used to click on advertise to make some money in a website.

I believe PPC won't help us with SEO, PPC does list our site to the top position in search engine, but it's just as long as you pay for PPC, after that our site goes to the same position as before we use PPC

You're right, PPC is different with SEO.
PPC is not one of SEO method.
PPC is just a shortcut to get top position on search engine, but the result is for a short time

SEO is about search engines, such as google, yahoo and so on. and PPC is about pay per click, such as google adsense, bidvertiser......, am i right?

You can say that PPC is part of SEO but difference is that you get paid for each click in PPC.

The main difference between Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) is that traffic coming from SEO (organic) is free while traffic generated from PPC is not free (as the name implies you have to pay a cost per click).
