What exchange service do you use?
If you're do exchange with another trusted person, then it wont take any hours.
But, if you're using exchange site service, i think they would take 1 day to process your transaction.

it will take some time because you are exchanging from a suspicious processor " alertpay " so the exchanger must take 1 or 2 days hold to be sure that your money is clean and then you will get the equivalent in e-gold .
I recommend you to get rid of all money you have in alertpay ..
