Can XML replace HTML

I think XML and HTML are somehow related to each other.
They may be functioning almost similar way.
So can XML replace HTML?

hi archy..HTML formed the "base" for XML..so i don't think XML can replace HTML..and moreover for learning the basics of programming HTML is always easier to learn and get the central idea.hope it helps

yes you are absoltely right byyp.
Html is the skeleton i can say.
XML is the structural language that can give you more designs to your architecture or framework.

well i have heard of xhtml and xml.
but i really dont know what exactly is the difference.

XML and HTML are totally different...HTML is used to display a page but XML used for data handling (storing data and add/delete/modify data)...Both are very important if you are in web development.

as far as i know XML is an advanced version of HTML.there are certain limitations in HTML which are cleared by XML.

Nops, It cannot. HTML is basically a Markup Language which is basically used to represent the Data on the Web. But XML is totally other way round - It is basically used to Store the Data and not used to represent the Data.

HTML can use XML to store data and to read from Data but XML cannot not make use of HTML for any reason. This makes both different to each other. You cannot replace XML with HTML and other way as both have unique features.

XML is very very big Topic and it is not like HTML. There are many things in XML.
