Hello Friends,
A good news for all of us.. No need to download this big file and no need to find out ur bank IFSC no in this big file..
Its very easy to find out- just see ur check book - u will find the no... hehehe - very easy...
Is it written on the cheque book?
Yes you are right. It is written on my Axis Bank Cheque book, but it is not written on SBI cheque book, or at least I couldn't find out.
ssarkar: I think that this IFSC number is available on all the cheques. If your cheque book do not have the same, perhaps it may be an old chequebook.

I think its the great way to find out the IFSC no..
That may be true, I will ask my bank for new cheque books and let's see whether the IFSC code is written on it or not.
iFSC codes can be easily know from net ,otherwise from bank itself or from cheque book .I usually ask from branch manger for confirmation.
I think that this IFSC number of your bank is useful for international transfer of funds only. And this type of transfer to India is allowed on paypal only.
Does LR allow such transfer?
Friends, but some sites like xoom ask for bank code. Does that bank code and ifsc code are same? Actually, bank code is asked in many places. I can see the word IFSC only in paypal.
Dear lemon_1800 - bank code and IFSC code is not same..Quote:

Bank code (swift code) and IFSC code is not the same. Swift code is required for international money transfer, i.e., if I receive some money from some foreign body, they require swift code, where as IFSC code requires only for domestic money transfer.
if you have a passbook of your bank account, the IFSC number will be sealed or printed in it. Or, you can ask any staffs of the bank online or through telephone.
IFSC-indian financial system code is made of 11 numbers.last 6 numbers denote branch of bank.in my chequebook it is not printed.i had searched on net when i wanted to transfer from paypal to my bank account.
\All the pvt banks are printing this number on their cheque books, but I also donot find it on my SBI Cheque book, as this a public sector bank. I don't know whether this is for old cheque book or sbi donot print this number at all.Quote:

Lemon, are you exchaning money in LR with that of PP through xoom? How much money you have to pay for this service? I mean to say, how much percentage of commission they deduct for their service?
