Why Alexa Page Ranking is more important?

Friends,
I have heard people saying that alexa page ranking is more than Google page ranking.
I know Google is a search engine which people use more frequently than alexa search Engline. So I wonder why people say Alexa is more important.

Could you help me out with this?

Alexa is one of the major competitor and a best site ranking calculator.

yes i also think Alexa is the main source to find all information about any site and it make much more impact than any other site and all site use this site for checking traffic and web page ranking....

I wouldn't say that alexa is the main source to know how your site or blog is doing ..
Try google analytics they give you unique visitors ... It is really very effective in my case :)

I don´t think that alexa rank is better than the PR, if you have a good PR you will have a better alexa rank

I wont really compare these two things because even if they have a same nature of determining how well the blog is doing they are characterised on different terms.
Alexa rank is based on various terms like how much traffic you receive what is the percentage increase in the traffic that you are receiving and stuff like that.

But Google rank is based more on the quality back links you have to your blog or site. It simply determines what value your blog has by the places you have your link in :)

How did you use google analytics? You just submit your site and google has done all the works? If I want to submit my site to alexa, what is the prcedure?

Yes, that's true and I agree that Alexa and Google ranking are two different things but ranking are reliable if you want to know the status of a certain blog.

I have no idea on this i will do research on this and reply soon on this

well alexa ranking is important to see the site's popularity but it has no concern with the seo of the website...

alexa rank is imporant .it calculate traffic and give the rank

Good PR is very much helpful to get high rank in Alexa rank.
