    You first need to know what your site is all about. Then you can decide what CMS has to be used for your website.

    in fact joomla is good but need a lot of updates.. but wordpress Rocks, easy to use, easy to edit the themes and content, lot of plugins and big community for help..

    this question is older than whole Internet.

    but seriously..
    I think WP is more flexible and can be used for website pretty much every type. And with a lot of great looking themes and functional plugins is really easy to manage.

    JM is better for your content management, if you are looking for a basic text page knockaround then WP will make it pretty easy.
