Default How to hide whois record?

Friends, I'm going to buy one new domain soon, but I don't like to display my real name and addresses to public which they can obtain from whois records. Can you please tell me how to hide the whois data?

You can find it in many sites, and one of them is whois.net .

@tom, I also heard about it one registrar, but these things are not mentioned in many registrars.

Hi lemon, I wouldn't recommend you to hide your personal information if you're going to build a big and good site.
No big site and trusted site hide their personal information.
Personal information can help us to make sure that you're trusted.

I dont agree with you i have seen many good sites hiding their who is record and it is advisable to hide who is record because i have seen many people taking bad advantage of it when they know any know member is admin of this site,i already suffered for this.@lemon i 'll suggest to hide your domain name if you do any site.

Hi alec according to you google and yahoo or other renowned sites they also don't hide their whois information..?
Sorry friend the concept is wrong if you want to hide your whois information then there is no problem with it and you can do it while registering any domain or you also can do it later also and if you want to show people your site is a trusted site then purchase a SSL certificate and you also can verify your site with the following sites you have to pay for it and they will provide you logo of trust and all big company do this by hiding or showing their information but all site hide their data.

Hi lemon the registrar don't clearly write this for this they use some other words juts like make your domain protected,Protected domain,Deal your domain,Disable whois etc....
all site provide this features but they will charge minimum of $ 12 to $ 15 for this.
    Thanks.

Very intelligent but you can't do this you have 2 options with you either you can hide your whois Information by giving money for this or use your original data because in every 6 months every domain registrar company face a auditing made by "Domain Dispute Center" they are only the domain provides from this organization other company take the license to sell the domain names so at the end or middle of 6 months of time you may face some problem if you use any invalid data.
    Thanks.

Oh, I got confused with you. I don't think you're really understand with what I said on my previous post.

Yes, we can hide our information easily, but I'm not recommend it.
Example, if you open an ecommerce site (online shopping site) but you hide your address, etc, would people trust your site better than other online shop which giving their address and real information? It's not for sure.

Anyway, check google.com and yahoo.com, they don't hide their information.
You can see their address and company name there

Actually facilities are there for different purpose it depends on individuals whether to hide the information or not some people find uneasy telling about their ownership fearing it may put bad impact on his/her site ,some do it purposefully to cheat ,but some dont hide but give wrong information and cheat so it has no relation with trust or anything many people dont know about these things, they go for site's popularity.
