difference between : website theme, skin and layout.

I will be glad if someone explain to me the difference between : website layout, website skin and website theme.
I usually consider all of them as the one thing.

The process of arranging a website is called as website layout .

website skin is the outer look how its looks like..

you call it as website theme (theme of the movie )means on whats your website is based on

Thanks for your detailed explanation about website layout and skin. But I can't agree with your explanation for "website theme". Website themes are generally referred to layouts, like we can select different themes from drop down menu of forum.myhyip.com. But I really don't know what's the difference between theme and layout.

The website layout is just the outlook of one html page of the website. but for website theme, it is including every design of the websites. For instance, a website theme will cover the whole webpages design, and its link like about us, details, company profiles, whereas the website layout is only cover single main pages.

Website Layout:
IS basically tells you how are you going to divide the website. Like how many rows & columns are available. Where are you going to put Ads and also if you are having Google adsense then where you are going to put those ads.

This is actually a layout of the website.

Website Theme/Skin:
For me it is same, no difference between both. It is actually a look. Color schemes. Which makes website with different looks.
